Camp dates:
Week 1: May 27-30
Week 2: June 2-6


Rhea Schwartz Camp Shalom has been serving the Tallahassee area's Jewish youth since 1997. Founded by Rhea and Louis Schwartz and sponsored by the Tallahassee Jewish Federation, hundreds of kids have enjoyed this awesome summer day camp! Registration to the Rhea Schwartz Camp Shalom is now open. The camp is available to children ages 5-13.


Schedule:
Campers are assigned to groups according to their grade in school. Counselors travel with campers to centers for activities. Centers may include: Arts and Crafts, Cooking, Sports and Gym, Activity Game Room, Drama, Outdoor games, and Music. Healthy snacks and drinks are served mid-morning. Please provide a dairy lunch for your camper. Lunch provides an opportunity for singing and learning Jewish folk songs. After lunch, there is a special camp-wide activity that everyone enjoys.


Camp Hours:
• Camp hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• Before camp begins at 7:30 a.m. at an additional charge. Please do not bring campers to camp before 7:30 a.m.
• After-camp hours* are 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and is available at an additional charge. See camp fees schedule below. Snacks and drinks are served at after-camp.


*A $10.00 late fee will be assessed if a camper is not picked up by 5:30 pm.
*After-camp will not be available on the last Friday, June 6.

Payment:
This year we are happy to accept online payments. Once you register your camper/s you will receive an invoice via email, the invoice will include a link to the Jewish Federation PayPal. If you wish to pay by check please mail to Karen Cyphers, 114 S Duval St. Tallahassee, FL 32301. If you have questions about the fees related to your camper/s feel free to contact us directly at campshalomtallahassee@gmail.com


Discounts!!!
If you register and pay before April 1, 2025 you are eligible for the early bird discount. $525 for two weeks/$250 for one week for federation/synagogues members or $550 for two weeks/$275 for one week for nonmembers of the federation/synagogues.
• 5% discount for second and third child


Scholarships:
Partial scholarships are available. Please fill out the Federation scholarship form and send it to Federation. The form can be found here.


Rising 7th and 8th graders:
If your camper will be in the 7th or 8th grade in the fall, they will be in a group that will be going on field trips almost every day. Please add $100 per week to your camper’s fee to cover the cost of these trips. You will receive a separate letter with additional information for those campers in mishpacha.


Sign-In/Sign-Out:
Please sign your camper(s) in and out daily at the front desk in the lobby of Temple Israel.


Lunch:
Please pack a non-meat lunch daily. Due to the large number of staff and campers, microwaves and refrigeration are not available. Use an ice pack and send food that does not need to be heated or cooked.


Special Events:
We will send email to campers directly with information about special events and post these events on our facebook page. For Water Day, campers should wear bathing suits under their clothes, water shoes, and bring a towel and a plastic bag for wet items.

We love and need volunteers to help out before, during, and after camp.
